With Cognizant Car360, OEMs have a suite of mobile apps and a framework for leveraging telematics data in design, manufacturing and fleet management applications that help turn the vision into reality. The Car360 apps correspond to the typical lifecycle phases that most car owners experience.
In the vehicle research phase, drivers get the information they need on smartphones to make an informed buying decision. In the purchase phase, they manage necessary dealer interactions, including financing and payments. Then, in the ownership phase, Car360 integrates with vehicle sensors to assess ongoing driving patterns and monitor vehicle health.
For this large, U.S.-based auto manufacturer, Cognizant defined the overall vehicle connectivity strategy and helped rationalize decisions around the infrastructure platform and services to be provided. We also equipped the company with analytics software and processes to analyze the big data being collected.
This Japanese OEM serving the luxury car segment asked Cognizant to provide vehicle owners with an additional communications channel. Using real-time data from sensors found in owners’ cars, the channel interfaces with the company’s vehicle telematics services and provides owners with a more personalized experience.
Cognizant provided consulting and implementation services as part of a fleet management solution developed for this large logistics company. The solution is used across seven facilities in four cities and on over 500 vehicles. Key features include geo zone definition for tracking cab usage within the cities and driver speeding alert notifications.
