A leading full-service freight transportation provider was struggling with underperforming legacy business systems. Services such as shipment tracking, booking, payments and vendor management were compromised by slow on-premises applications. To prepare the company for cloud adoption Cognizant developed both short- and long-term roadmaps to implement Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Cloud and Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) Cloud in a staggered manner.
The implementation began with Oracle ERP Cloud deployment, covering accounts payables (AP), general ledger, fixed assets and cash management. Oracle HCM Cloud deployment followed, covering core HR, payroll and benefits. In addition, legacy systems were integrated into the platform to support supplier, invoice and fixed asset creation.
