Global Bank Uses Devops to Upgrade Home Loan Processing

The Challenge

DevOps has gained popularity in banking for its promise to deliver software reliably, efficiently and quickly. A major global bank worked with Cognizant's digital banking solutions team to upgrade its approach to home loan processing—streamlining the process, driving efficiency and improving the customer experience. The bank launched two parallel initiatives to achieve its goals, choosing DevOps as an important piece in improving time to market and quality.

Our Approach

Cognizant employed a DevOps approach to design and implement a streamlined home loan correspondence process. At the same time, the team utilized used enterprise imaging to digitize and store all correspondence on a cutting-edge content management platform.

Partnering with the bank’s team, Cognizant launched two simultaneous initiatives: The “Home Loans Correspondence” project streamlined correspondence and shifted ownership of it in-house. The “Enterprise Imaging” project established a process for digitizing and storing all correspondence in a content repository available to the entire enterprise. Through this work, the team achieved its objective of digitalization with quick response and turnaround times.

By shifting to a DevOps approach, the bank now has an effective, efficient home loan solution that provides a unified view of customer communications, as well as a central repository for digital content and clear, simple processes for auditing and managing correspondence.
