A leading U.S.-based insurance provider faced a slew of challenges associated with the legacy applications that were core to its business. Driven by a need for flexible, scalable solutions to meet business demands, and to provide more value to its customers, the company wanted to consolidate and transition the more than 100 applications deployed within its insurance workflow. The provider also wanted to avoid the infrastructure management associated with its legacy systems so it could focus on core business activities.
After an in-depth assessment of customer pain points and potential solutions, Cognizant and the provider decided to implement Guidewire on Amazon Web Services (AWS). We also recommended AWS services to enhance the scalability, high availability, disaster recovery and security of the overall implementation.
Deploying Guidewire for our client involved building a highly available and secure implementation infrastructure with over 900 instances and more than 35 environments. We also implemented multiple infrastructure- and platform-as-a-service offerings from AWS to host the Guidewire Policy Center, Billing Center and Claims Center application suite, and created a completely automated pipeline for AWS component provisioning, application deployment and configuration.
The implementation of this cloud solution reduced IT costs, increased visibility and improved quality of service for the provider’s end customers.
