Our End-to-End UI Process is a comprehensive and unique process that Cognizant’s Usability CoE evolved and uses to design and evaluate high performance interfaces. End-to-End UI Process helps us in understanding users and their tasks, designing for those users, and evaluating the design with the users

The Usability CoE’s service offerings include:

User Experience Design
We design/redesign user Interfaces for clients using our unique End-to-End UI Process. Low-fidelity or high fidelity prototypes can be delivered. Depending on the size/complexity of the application, this may process might take from a few weeks to a few months.

Usability Testing
We test the client’s design at our usability-testing lab Madras (India) or in another appropriate city (country). Clients will know the actual performance details of their target users. Depending on location and number of users, this may take 2 or 3 weeks.

User Interface Standard Development
We develop interaction, visual, and information standards for organizations including software vendors. Depending on the scope of work, this might take 1 to 3 months to complete.

Strategic Consulting
We evaluate an existing user interface and submit a report -- in just 1 or 2 weeks — providing answers to important questions such as: “Does the user interface allow users to complete tasks quickly?” and “Does the business have to spend on user-training programs to make the workforce ready to use the application?” We also suggest next-steps based on our findings and in the context of business goals for that application.

Proofs-of-Concept (POCs) to demonstrate Productivity Gains
We take one or two user tasks from an existing application, redesign it for high user performance, and then project the user productivity gains and ROI that the business organization can expect. The POC and the projection would give the client the kind of business value they can expect from reengineering an existing application. Depending on the scope of work, this service might take 2 or 3 weeks to complete.
