| Our client installed JDE One World B7322 at five locations in the UK , one in Holland and two in the USA . The company decided to upgrade to JD Edwards 8.11 in the UK and Europe offices. The objective is to achieve a more stable, current and scalable hardware and software architecture and system which will support the client's targeted growth rate of 100% over the next three years. |

Issues:
- Our client is three versions behind the current release of Enterprise One.
- Our client could not receive new fixes and patches, and any new tax and regulatory updates.
- Problem resolution involved external resource developing B733.2 at time and cost.
- Further system changes increase the complexity of an upgrade in the future. Being three versions behind has added additional complexity to the upgrade process.

The Cognizant team's major responsibilities in supporting this project through a Global Delivery Model were:
- Upgrading the B7332 CRP environment to Xe.
- Upgrading the Xe environment to 8.11 for Development Environment.
- Creating a 8.11 Test Environment by replicating the 8.11 Development Environment.
- Retrofiting to the 8.11 Development environment and deploy changes to Test environment.
- Conducting a CRP in the 8.11 Test environment.
- Creating a 8.11 Production environment by replicating the tested 8.11 Test environment objects.
- Upgrading only the data from B7332 Production environment to Xe.
- Upgrading only the data from Xe to 8.11 Production environment.

The upgrade project lived up to the objective of providing a far more stable platform. Apart from that, the client benefited from:
- Reducing costs due to elimination of fact clients.
- JDE 8.11's web-server architecture which allows access to the system from any networked area.
- The client can also load or refresh sample data for testing at discretion after the installation.
