SAP-HR Implementation: DFS
Client
DFS continues to be the largest travel retailer in the world with its operating divisions clustered into two geographic groups, the U.S. and Asia.
 
Client Situation

The client was using:

  • PeopleSoft HRMS V7.51 in order to streamline their Human Resources activities, Base Benefits, and Payroll processes
  • SAP R/3 V4.0 for their Financial, Controlling, and Consolidation activities

DFS wanted to maintain only one ERP system (SAP) for their Financial and Human Resources activities to eliminate data redundancy, reduce maintenance costs, and maintain data integrity, data security, and data accessibility.
 
Cognizant's Solution

Cognizant proposed that the client select SAP R/3 as the ERP package for maintaining Financial and HR information, with SAP as the ERP package for all DFS requirements; this had numerous advantages and the same has been accepted as the future platform at DFS. We implemented SAP HR. Functionalities developed included: custom development including all conversions, outbound interfaces, conversion, interfaces, and activities from creating the technology/landscape to sizing, installation, and maintenance.
