| A Shop Floor Control System was going to be implemented as a pilot at a manufacturing site. The system will be rolled out globally in phases. The manufacturing systems of the company runs JDE (8.9) and it was envisioned to have the Shop Floor Control System interfaced to JDE and have it as the primary data source. |

Cognizant managed the end-to-end interfacing of JDE and the Shop Floor Control System including design of the interfacing, development of JDE Master Business functions, generating COM scripts, COM Wrapper DLL, the deployment of the interface components and testing of the transaction. Both of these were standalone and throughout the Shop Floor Control System using a four-layer design:
