| The client is a
large manufacturing organization |
| |
| The client's IT organization was not aligned with the business. Applications were built on old platforms and technologies that could not be extended. It was imperative to cut IT spending and maximize value from IT investments. |
| |
| We conducted a
comprehensive review of all existing architecture,
systems, infrastructure, and support/development
processes and made the following recommendations
for: |
| |
- Technology Rationalization
- Offshorability analysis results from a study that used scientific and statistical tools. The results included:
- Maturity of every application
- Transition process with the associated timeline and resource count for the various stages of an offshoring exercise based on the output of maturity analysis, client organizational priorities, and other constraints
- Cost analysis and potential savings for the client over a 24-month horizon, based on the output of the transition models
|
| |
| The analysis resulted
in a lowered Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
of the IT organization. There was a cost
savings of 18% for the first year and projected
savings of 33% for the second year. The
detailed analysis of the applications brought
out existing application, system, and infrastructure
limitations of the architecture and recommended
the adoption of mitigation plans to offset
any deficiencies. The exercise also resulted
in streamlining the process of implementing
new systems and technologies and realizing
the future roadmap in a structured and controlled
manner. The client also adopted the recommended
implementation methodology towards standardization
of quality documentations per CMM. The exercise
resulted in a standardized methodology for
package system selection and various other
SDLC activities that were originally performed
in an ad-hoc manner. |
