The client’s
rapid business growth put pressure on
systems which were very old and resulted
in a large amount of changes. The client’s
group companies had numerous islands of
information residing in disparate systems.
Consolidation of these data pockets was
a cumbersome task. The client’s
customers were unable to get a uniform
and consolidated snapshot of their stock
and business with these companies.
Each of these companies had developed their
own WMS system or used customized versions
of off-the-shelf packages. These systems
were on different hardware and software
platforms leading to problems in integration.
The client wanted to assess the feasibility
of implementing an integrated, unified
system that could result in lesser development
and maintenance costs. |
