Client is the premier provider of access, insight and actionable programs that connect sellers to buyers in the technology, healthcare and entertainment industries. Client publishes over 50 magazines and possesses over 250 websites catering to variety of consumers. Through its market-leading brand portfolio, this client has earned the trust of industry professionals.

 
Business Challenge

Client wanted to leverage its various print and online properties including products such as webcasts and events to register and track the profiles of all its subscribers/users and to subsequently use those profiles to drive database marketing opportunities. To achieve this, there was a need to:

  • Bring together the registration, demographic and tracking data from various assets; including print, webcasts, newsletters, events, etc.
  • Implement a tracking mechanism on audience behavior.
  • Create measures to monetize the audience activity by implementing targeted advertisements, providing personalized content, increasing Web traffic, etc.
  • Build business intelligence reports that provide insights into audience behavior.
 
Cognizant Solution

We undertook an extensive JRP (Joint Requirements Planning) exercise followed by requirements detailing as part of our approach. We successfully completed Phase 1 of the project and are currently executing Phase 2. Some key solution highlights are:

  • Deployed a program manager, technical architects, business analysts and other technical resources onsite within a short time based on client needs.
  • Leveraged the client’s Eclipse based SDE and Java Feed Framework (JAFF) to implement an open source Java-based solution for feeds between the client and product vendors.
  • Completed Phase 1 on time and within budget.
  • Leveraged Cognizant’s Centers of Excellence (CoE) including Java CoE, Open Source CoE as required.
  • Built a business intelligence reporting feature for all data to identify marketing opportunities.
  • Use our ETL framework for integrating and consolidating user data across various business groups of the client.
  • The technologies involved in this project are: Java, ATG Dynamo, Cognos ReportNet, Oracle 10g, Cognizant’s Java Feed Framework.
