Cognizant ranked second among computer services & IT consulting companies in Institutional Investor's annual ranking of "America's Most Shareholder-friendly Companies".

Cognizant's President and CEO Francisco D'Souza also ranked second in the "Best Chief Executive Officer" category among computer services & IT consulting firms. Cognizant's ranking in the two categories studied improved one place from Institutional Investor's 2007 special report.

The America's Most Shareholder-friendly Companies ranking is generated from the input of 640 analysts and portfolio managers who were asked to grade the effectiveness of publicly-held U.S. companies in corporate governance and investor relations and how those efforts relate to shareholder value (see methodology). For Best U.S. CEOs, Institutional Investor asked approximately 900 investment professionals at 425 institutions to rank the three CEOs they considered to be best in the sectors they follow (see methodology).
