Teaneck, NJ - November 20, 2007 - Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation (NASDAQ: CTSH), a leading provider of global IT and business process outsourcing services, today announced that its strategic business intelligence engagement with Carlson Marketing Worldwide has won a coveted Computerworld 2007 Best Practices in Business Intelligence Award. The MyWorkLink project - that Cognizant helped Carlson develop - won in the "Innovation and Promise" category at the Computerworld Business Intelligence Perspectives Conference held on September 26, 2007, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The award is given to a successfully implemented project with the most innovative approach to business intelligence.
The MyWorkLink project is a unique web-based, "on-demand" business intelligence solution. Its primary goal is to enhance customer satisfaction by helping customers define their own success parameters, track their incentive programs and measure various key performance indicators -such as productivity, operations cost, and success rate - with self-service analytical tools.
"Recognition and validation of our solutions & best practices by industry-leading practitioners has helped our clients receive such key industry accolades. To us, this is a reaffirmation that Cognizant continues to provide innovative and industry-focused Business Intelligence solutions to our clients," said Veera Narayanaswamy, vice president & global practice head data warehousing, business intelligence and performance management practice, Cognizant. "The solution, supporting Carlson's 'Engagement' services, provided Business Intelligence as a 'Service' to around 20 end-customer organizations of Carlson. 'Business Intelligence as a Service' model and the self-service analytical solution capability helped Carlson reduce its total cost of ownership."
"We're proud of the work we have done with Cognizant in providing additional business intelligence to our customers. Allying with a strong partner with the right expertise improves our overall performance," said Scott Heintzeman, CIO, Carlson Marketing. "Time-to-market was a critical success factor for us. It's a bit technical, but with Cognizant, we defied the conventional project lifecycle by eliminating the dependency between Data Integration and Reporting. We generated test data for reporting using Cognizant's in-house solution accelerator, Data Builder. It helped us reduce the project time by 30 percent."
