Innovation Beyond The Four Walls
Cognizant Announces Three-Year Pledge Supporting STEM Education at Texas A&M University
This Cognizant client wanted to increase the IT performance, resource utilization and scalability of a hosted solution it runs for its own customers. We met their goal by using the Microsoft Visual development tool to modify existing code using Windows Azure HPC Scheduler. We then moved the applications to the cloud-based Windows Azure platform.
The company now uses Windows Azure resources to support disaster recovery. It can also take advantage of capabilities like Microsoft SQL Azure to accommodate rapid data growth.
With nearly 35 TB of unstructured data in a variety of environments, this company wanted to move all of its content from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010 in the cloud.
Management engaged with us to provide guidance and advice in setting up a uniform knowledge management and content management environment by bringing in the necessary skills, expertise and tools for running SharePoint in the cloud. Benefits included lower licensing costs, better efficiency and collaboration, and lower risk.
