We’re working to rewire our operations and lead our industry in energy conservation, waste reduction and recycling.
Throughout our company, you’ll find numerous planet-friendly initiatives. Our energy efficiency improvement project uses Six Sigma and Lean techniques to optimize energy usage. Through our Environment Management System, defined by ISO 14001 standards, we identify and control the environmental impact of our activities. And our “paperless offices” program has made great strides in reducing paper usage across our operations worldwide.
Concern over climate change has prompted us to reassess our energy dependence. At Cognizant, we seek to reduce emissions across our global network. And we’re teaming with employees to conserve energy and minimize carbon footprint.
For perhaps the best example of Cognizant’s commitment to environmental sensitivity, look to the company-wide initiative called Go Green, which actively engages associates in ongoing environmental programs. One such program: our recent Earth Day social media campaign, “a billion acts of green,” employed Facebook and Twitter to encourage associates to share their green acts and inspire others to follow suit.
