Educating for the Future
New knowledge workers are defining the Future Of Work. But how will we continue to find them? Can we educate enough children today to meet the needs of tomorrow? At Cognizant, we're committed to solidifying the global education infrastructure, to ensure a knowledge-based workforce.
Knowledge workers will play a crucial role in solving the globe's most pressing social and environmental problems - from climate change and health issues to water and food shortages and cities of the future. The need for this talent is growing, yet significant shortage of these workers have emerged in the U.S and Europe. Moreover, serious challenges exist within public education systems worldwide.
We're taking action to help remedy the situation. One example is our Project Outreach volunteer program, which promotes education worldwide through ongoing support from Cognizant and the voluntary efforts of our associates.
In the U.S., Cognizant is a member of Change the Equation, a group of more than 100 CEOs who have collectively pledged more than $5 million in first-year funding to improve awareness and effectiveness in STEM( science, technology, engineering, math) education.
We are also a national corporate underwriter for NPower, a non-profit organization whose workforce development program trains and helps young adults find IT careers, and brings IT services to other nonprofits.
